Cessna L-19 Bird Dog

L-19 Bird Dog Military Observation and Reconaissance Aircraft

This fully restored 1952 classic is the military version of the Cessna 170.
The L-19 was used by the U.S. Air Force, Army and Marine Corps from 1950 to 1972 for a variety of observation and reconaissance roles. The name “Bird Dog” was the result of a Cessna Employee Contest and was chosen because it describes the reconnaissance role, reliability, and friendliness of the aircraft. In 1962 the L-19 was re-designated as the O-1.

The Bird Dog's heated cockpit make it extremely comfortable for winter flying and the large windows are ideal for photography any time of the year.  The aircraft accommodates one adult maximum passenger with a maximum weight of 250 pounds.
